Background & History

Veridio is Altene-born, raised in the Heart of Altene, where he quickly distinguished himself through grit and determination. Joining the ranks of the White Sharks, he took to the sea at a young age, rising through the ranks with his natural leadership and sharp instincts. After several years at sea, he was promoted to captain his own ship, the Wavecrasher.
However, on his very first mission, disaster struck. A violent storm, more ferocious than anything Veridio had ever encountered, descended out of nowhere. Amid the chaos, an inky black sea monster, its tentacles writhing like the storm itself, emerged from the depths and destroyed the Wavecrasher, leaving his crew to perish. Veridio barely survived, clutching a piece of wreckage until he washed ashore near Iridine.

Survivor's Guilt: The screams of his crew and the cold, beady eyes of the sea monster haunt him to this day.

Life in Iridine: After washing ashore, Veridio sought to rebuild his life in Iridine. He spent 15 years as a constable, dedicated to upholding justice while developing a reputation for being tough but fair. His approach balanced a no-nonsense attitude with an understanding of the grey areas between law and survival, recognizing the desperation of those pushed to theft by hunger or greed. He retired from the Constables in 309, feeling disillusioned by the system but still holding a deep respect for justice.
Since retiring, Veridio has found a new purpose in helping newcomers to the city, serving as the Secretary (2nd in command) of the Divortium Auxilii, where he aids fresh faces in navigating the complexities of Iridine. His leadership and mentorship in this role have made him a reliable figure for those seeking guidance.

Veridio has become an avid gladiator, joining the Midlight Gladiator League and the Cruentus Laureola gladiator stable. His competitive spirit has given him a new outlet,

Worship & Superstition: Veridio worships Eraitheran, but his deep connection to the sea borders on reverence. His experiences at sea have filled him with superstition about the ocean and its dark unexplainable forces.
