Bio Nereza

Nereza Abiy, was born on the 3rd of Jemros in the year 274 deep within the eastern Steps. She had a very harsh up-bringing, her father Agrius selling her off to the men of the neighborhood for 'entertainment', her mother Eliana using her for the hard work at home. At the age of twelve she became pregnant with her daughter, Lucara, to a frequent client. A full year from her daughter's birth Nereza planned to flee the Steps and was cornered by a group of hooded and masked men. She knew by the feel of their leader's presence that he was Lucara's father. A quiet prayer was said to the old gods that she worshipped without question, and, she fought.

Several days passed by and she woke to see half of a world with a missing eye and an empty feeling in her heart at the loss of her child. Nereza spent a few days recovering and adjusting to her lack of sight in the care of an old violet-eyed woman, presumably the one who stitched her eye socket closed though the old woman spoke nothing except to 'pick yourself up and live'. Those words stuck in the back of Nereza's mind as she made her way outside of the city and as far as her legs would take her. Eventually being nothing but skin and bones, she became ill and curled up on the side of the road fully expecting to fall asleep and never awaken. The thud of a boot heel accompanied by a dull pain in the side brought a touch of life back into her body. 'Oh, you're still alive. Uncle, grab this one.'

The world seemed to fall away as her eye closed once more.

When her eye once more opened, she looked around to see a simple dwelling filled with racks of fabrics and spools of thread. A woman sitting nearby on a chair paused only for a moment to look up with a serene gaze before her fingers went back to work embroidering a garment. "You know, it's lucky we found you. You might have died out there." A soft sigh escaped the woman's lips as she spoke, "Naked as the day you were born wouldn't be a fitting way to go out either. At least it made it easier for Uncle to carry you."

It was this quiet little place that Nereza learned her tailoring skills under the guidance of that woman, named Rica. Gladius combat and the use of Avros was introduced to her by a giant of a man who was always concealed with a hooded cloak and referred to only as 'Uncle', even by Nereza. After a few years of working and training, she decided to make her way back to the city in search of Lucara.
